Alaba: persuades Alfonso Davies to move to Real Madrid

Real Madrid are seriously interested in Bayern (Munich) left-back Alphonso Davies, who has yet to renew his contract with the Bavarians. According to journalist Florian Plattenberg, the Canadian international has spoken with his former teammate David Alaba, who tried to convince him to move to the Santiago Bernabeu.

The two have been good friends since their time together at Bayern and Alaba hopes to play together at Real. At this stage, Bayern are adamant that they will not part with Alphonso Davies. His contract runs until June 2025, but negotiations to extend it are at a standstill.

"I have always been a big fan of Real Madrid. It is a club with 14 Champions League trophies. When a player you represent is linked to Real, it's a real pride. However, it is not true that we have been negotiating. We were close to an agreement with Bayern on the new contract, but then came the surprise dismissal of Hasan Salihamidzic and after that nobody was looking for me," commented Davies' agent Nedal Huoseh.
