Anthony Joshua returns to the ring on April 1

Former world heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua returns to the ring with a fight against American Jermaine Franklin in London on April 1. The Briton has not fought since August last year, when he suffered a second consecutive defeat by Oleksandr Usyk (Ukraine) in Saudi Arabia.

The British fighter lost his World Boxing Association (WBA), International Boxing Federation (IBF), World Boxing Organization (WBO) championship belts after being defeated by the same opponent in September 2021.

"A new start," Joshua wrote on Twitter and posted a picture of the poster for the fight against Franklin, which will take place at the O2 Arena. The Briton was ringside in November when Franklin lost to Dillian Whyte at Wembley Arena in London. It was his first defeat in 22 fights in professional boxing. Joshua has 24 wins and 3 losses in his career.
