Argentina won versus Bolivia without Messi

Argentina recorded its second victory since the start of the world qualifiers in the "South America" zone. The "Gauchos" defeated Bolivia with the classic 3:0 in their visit of the 2nd round. The guests were without their big star Lionel Messi, who was rested due to a slight illness. This did not prevent them from dealing with their rival, and Enzo Fernandez in the 31st minute, Nicolas Tagliafico in the 42nd minute and Nicolas Gonzalez in the 83rd minute were accurate for success.

Argentina stood better on the field in the first part and in the 31st minute came to open the score. Angel Di Maria crossed sharply from the right and Enzo Fernandez from the movement intercepted the ball in the goal for 0:1. The situation for Bolivia became even more difficult in the 37th minute when the referee decided to give a straight red card to Roberto Fernandez, who stepped on the ankle of an opposing player and could have injured him badly.

With a man more, Argentina finished off their opponent with two more goals. First, in the 42nd minute,  Tagliafico scored with a header after another assist from Di Maria, after a cross from a foul. The third goal was the work of Nicolas Gonzalez, who scored with a shot from the edge of the penalty area in the 83rd minute. With this success, Argentina collected an asset of 6 points and temporarily topped the standings before the remaining matches of the round were played.
