Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool will fight to the last for Caicedo

Arsenal-Chelsea-and-Liverpool

Three clubs are in a transfer battle for Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo. According to Fabrizio Romano, it's Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool. On Monday, each of them was contacted by the new agency, which has been representing the Ecuadorian for several days, to be informed of the current situation.

Brighton have already rejected a bid from Chelsea, said to be worth £55m. The Seagulls are unwilling to part with the 21-year-old unless they receive an enticing offer approaching £100m. The Daily Telegraph reported today that Arsenal are ready to offer £75m.

Londoners have already attracted one Brighton player in the winter transfer window in the person of Leandro Trosar, for whom they paid 27 million.

Liverpool are in urgent need of quality new signings in the midfield, but it remains unclear whether the owners will allocate a serious enough budget to Jurgen Klopp for this in the remaining days until the end of the winter window, or postpone it until the summer. Brighton paid only five million for Caicedo of Independiente del Valle two years ago.
