Atletico Mineiro won a gold double in Brazil
Atletico Mineiro won the golden double after beating Atletico Paranense in the second match of the finals of the Brazilian Cup. The champions beat their opponent 2: 1 tonight and after four unanswered goals in the first match lifted the trophy with a total score of 6: 1.
Keno scored the first goal after a counterattack in the 25th minute, and Hulk, voted Brazil's best player of the year, increased Mineiro's lead in the 76th. Jaderson scored a consolation goal for Paranense three minutes before the end of regular time. "Against Atletico Paranense is not easy to play as a guest, but we kept calm and we did our job. Our fans have wanted this double for 50 years and I am glad that together we fulfilled our dreams," Hulk said after the match.
Atletico Mineiro is only the second team in history to win a gold double in Brazil. The other is Cruzeiro in 2003.
