Atletico released Joao Felix to Barcelona

The transfer saga surrounding Joao Felix is coming to an end. The Portuguese international will go on loan from Atlético Madrid to Barcelona. Negotiations between the two clubs are at an advanced stage and are likely to be finalized over the weekend. Barca is the only team Felix wants to move to.

The president of the Catalans, Joan Laporta, admitted his interest in him, and the footballer himself stated in his interview that he hopes to continue his career at Camp Nou and angered the management of Atlético. Xavi Hernandez was initially opposed to signing the striker, but now has no objection to having him in his squad.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Barcelona will pay between 7 and 8 million euros to take Felix on loan. There will also be a buyout clause in the contract. The Catalan club will fully cover the player's salary, which is around 10 million euros. Jorge Mendes has a key role in the negotiations. Felix's agent is on excellent terms with Barca's new sporting director Deco.

Atlético are also pleased that a way out of the situation surrounding the most expensive purchase in the club's history will finally be found. Diego Simeone has no intention of relying on Felix, and the fans of the "ducheschias" booed the Portuguese while he warmed up during the match against Granada (3:1) in the start of La Liga.
