Barcelona is heading for Benfica's left-back

Barcelona wants to strengthen on the left flank of the defense, where Jordi Alba has almost no competition. The young Alejandro Balde is expected to be sent on loan and replaced by another player.

Catalan "Sport" claims that at this stage of the "Camp Nou" are focused on attracting Alex Grimaldo from Benfica. He is a junior of Barça and was part of the backup team until 2016, when he moved to Benfica and quickly established himself as a key player.


Grimaldo's contract is until 2023 and it is not certain that the defender will agree to renew it. In the summer, Benfica wanted 30 million euros for him, but Lazio refused that price.
