Bayern are still waiting for a response to their final bid for Harry Kane
The transfer saga surrounding Harry Kane continues, although a resolution was expected tonight. The Bavarians made an offer worth €100m plus certain bonuses, hoping to receive a response by the end of the day. However, this did not happen and the German club will have to show more patience. At the Allianz Arena, they are optimistic that the president of Tottenham, Daniel Levy, will still be inclined to sell Kane, who has already expressed his desire to move to Bayern.
Final clarity on whether there will be a deal should come by August 11. A day later, Bayern will face RB Leipzig in the German Super Cup, and on August 13, Tottenham host Brentford in the Premier League opener. Meanwhile, English football legend Gary Lineker, who is a former Spurs player, believes that a transfer to Bayern would be a big step forward in Harry Kane's career.
"I think Harry will leave Tottenham and that will be the right decision. Now is the right time for him. Munich is a beautiful city and Bayern is among the biggest clubs in the world. Alan Shearer is ready to take Kane to the airport as he wants to retain his Premier League goalscoring record. Harry is now Tottenham's and England's number 1 scorer. In football, team trophies are more important than individual trophies, and Kane needs them. I don't see Tottenham as a team that will even be close to the top 4 next season. If Harry doesn't win anything with Bayern, it will mean that he is truly cursed," commented Lineker.
