Boston with first win in NBA Eastern Conference final playoffs


The Boston team defeated Miami 116:99 on the road in the fourth game of the final playoffs of the Eastern Conference of the National Basketball Association (NBA) of the USA and Canada, reducing its deficit in the series to 1:3 success.

Jayson Tatum contributed 33 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists in the victory for the visitors, with which they avoided elimination from the playoffs. Tatum made 14 of his 22 field goals, including 4 3-pointers in 9 attempts.

Jaylen Brown had 17 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists and Derrick White chipped in with 16 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists to keep Miami from making the finals and becoming the second No. 8 seed to do so after the New York Knicks in the 1998/1999 season. Grant Williams scored 14 points and Al Horford added 12 points and seven rebounds for the Celtics, who scored 38 points in the third quarter to Miami's 23.

Jimmy Butter had 29 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the hosts. Gabe Vincent had 17 points and 4 assists, and Caleb Martin chipped in with 16 points and 4 rebounds for Miami. The Heat rallied from an 11-point deficit late in the third period to within 5, but Boston responded with a run of 12 straight points to pull within 100-83 with seven and a half minutes remaining.
