Brendan Allen defeated Andre Muniz by submission in the final seconds of the bout

Brendan Allen and Andre Muniz squared off in the main event of the UFC Fight Night 220 event, which took place in Las Vegas. The two were originally supposed to be a head-to-head battle, but there was a change in plans. Nikita Krylov got sick and dropped out of the main fight with Ryan Spahn. So Muniz - Allen became the new main fight of the evening. Their meeting took place in the middleweight category.

The first round was fairly even and was entirely in the stance. The two traded heavy hooks, and Muniz was slightly rocked by a punch from Allen. In the second round Andre started very well and punished Allen with punches. However, that changed after he tackled Allen to the ground.

Brendan turned things in his favor and took a dominant position on the ground. He logged valuable minutes of control and won this round. In the third round, the fight again started evenly in the first minutes. At the end, Muniz went for a kick, but Allen caught him and took him down.

On the ground, Brendan applied a submission hold and got Munis to submit in the final seconds. Thus, Allen recorded his 4th consecutive victory, which is the biggest so far in his career. Andre, for his part, parted ways with 9 consecutive victories and lost for the 1st time in the UFC.
