Cejudo returns to the cage in August

UFC President Dana White revealed to ESPN that he is lining up a promising bantamweight bout to take place at UFC 292 on August 19th. It is about former two-division champion Henry Cejudo (16-3) and Marlon Vera (22-8-1). Contracts have not yet been signed, but both sides have agreed to terms for the fight, added ESPN.

Cejudo last stepped into the Octagon in May. It was his return to professional sports after a three-year hiatus. Then the American lost by decision to the 61-kilogram champion Aljamain Sterling. After this fight, Sterling's teammate Merab Dvaliashvili was lined up as the next opponent for Triple C.

Cejudo chose to fight in August rather than wait for Merab, who is recovering from surgery. August 19 marks the 15th anniversary of Henry Cejudo's golden success at the Olympic Games in Beijing. Vera also lost by decision in her last fight. He was defeated by Corey Sandhagen in March. Before this setback, he was on a four-game hitting streak.
