Chelsea's new strikers went wild against Brighton

Chelsea defeated Brighton 4:3 in the control played in Philadelphia. Two of the goals for Mauricio Pochettino's team were scored by new strikers Christopher Nkunku and Nicholas Jackson. Mihailo Mudric and Connor Gallagher were also on target for the Blues, while Danny Welbeck, Joao Pedro from the penalty spot and Denise Undav scored for the Seagulls.

Pochettino released Nkunku at the top of the attack, with Raheem Sterling, Carney Chukwuemeka and Jan Maatsen behind him. Levi Colville and Malo Gusto were starters in the back four. In midfield, Gallagher partnered Brazilian talent Andrey Santos.

The game started the better for Brighton and Welbeck opened the scoring in the 13th minute from Kaoru Mitoma's pass. In the 19th minute, Nkunku was the closest to a bounced ball in the penalty area and sent it into the net for 1:1. This was the only accurate shot of the team from "Stamford Bridge" until the break.

With the start of the second half, Cesare Casadei, Trevo Chalobah, Mark Cuqureia and Mihajlo Mudric appeared in the game for Chelsea. In the 60th minute, Brighton's Jean-Paul van Hecke received a straight red card and soon after Mudrik scored a second goal for the Seagulls. The Ukrainian international received a pass from Nicholas Jackson and shot unsaved for 2:1.

Jackson also assisted Conor Gallagher's goal in the 72nd minute, and in the 77th minute he intercepted a cross from Cucurea from the left wing to make it 4:1 in favor of Chelsea. A relaxation followed in the London ranks and Joao Pedro converted from the penalty spot before Undav shaped the final score.
