Conor McGregor promised to break another UFC record
The biggest star in the world MMA Conor McGregor wants to break a record in the UFC, which is currently held by two other fighters. Conor stated his desire to land the most knockouts in the organization. Currently, Matt Brown and Derrick Lewis each have thirteen in the UFC cage. Brown caught Lewis with a knockout last Saturday over Court McGee.
Shortly after that win, Conor tweeted his threat to better Browne and Lewis' achievements. "Matt Brown is 42 years old and now shares the record with Lewis for the most knockouts. I have eight knockouts and I'm 34. I will improve that record," wrote the Irishman.
Conor is guaranteed a matchup with Michael Chandler as they are both coaches on the upcoming season of the reality show The Ultimate Fighter. The fight hasn't been officially announced yet, but it's tradition for the two coaches to face off in the cage at the end of the season.
Matt Brown is ready to try McGregor if a fight with Chandler doesn't work out. This was stated by the American nicknamed the Immortal in response to Connor's tweet. "I'll fight you for that record," Brown replied. Conor, who is also known as Notorious, is the first fighter to hold titles in two different divisions in the UFC.
He also holds the record for the fastest victory in a championship match on the circuit - he knocked out Jose Aldo in just 13 seconds and became the ruler of the featherweight division. In 2020, he also scored a knockout in a third division, making him the only fighter with knockouts in three different divisions in the UFC.
