Cyril Gan showed class and delighted France with success at UFC Paris

Cyril Gan returned to winning ways in impressive fashion. The knockout puncher showed class in the main event of the UFC Paris event, defeating the tough Moldovan Sergey Spivak by TKO in the second round. It was the first success for the Frenchman since his submission loss to John Jones.

The former bantamweight title challenger opened the fight with quick straight jabs forehand. In typical his style, he bounced in front of his opponent with his hands down. Gann began attacking the knee of Spivak's front leg with kicks. The Moldovan tried to close the distance and take down the two-time Muay Thai champion of France, but to no avail. Gann's good movement around the cage kept him safe this time as well.

Spivak was persistent with takedown attempts, but his 33-year-old opponent did not allow the fight to go down. Gan would switch guards to confuse the opponent and break his rhythm. In the second part, Gan's superiority was even more evident. He took the center of the ring and began to work his opponent with low kicks and boxing combinations to the body and head. Spivak tried to close the distance with sudden attacks with steps forward, but Gan showed excellent defense and came out intact after each offensive of the Moldovan.

With 75 seconds left in the round, referee Mark Goddard had no choice but to end the bout as Gunn's attacks went unanswered by Spivak. The Frenchman delighted the local audience with an avalanche of blows to the head of Spivak, who stood with his back to the cage in deaf defense and only the referee's intervention saved him from a heavy knockout.
