Damian Lillard's 50 points were not enough for Portland to beat Cleveland

Portland-Cleveland

Damian Lillard scored 50 points, but it was not enough for the Portland Trail Blazers, who suffered a 113-119 home loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers in a game of the regular season of the National Basketball Association of the USA-Canada.

Lillard converted on 16 of 28 shooting attempts, but was unable to help his team avoid its fifth straight loss, which is also the team's 10th in the last 13 games. The reason for this turned out to be the modest help provided by his teammates, only three of whom finished with double-digit point assets. Jeremy Grant scored 22 points, Anfernee Simons added 15, and Bosnian center Jusuf Nurkic had 12 points and 12 rebounds.

At the same time, Cleveland's offense proved to be much more balanced, and that helped the visitors pull off a late-game turnaround, even though they were trailing by 14 points at one point.

Donovan Mitchell scored 26 points for the winners, Jarrett Allen added 24, grabbing and 10 rebounds, and playmaker Darius Garland finished with a double-double of 20 points and 10 assists. Returning to the game after more than a year of treatment for a knee injury was made by the Spanish guard Ricky Rubio, who scored nine points from the bench in ten minutes on the field.
