Embiid returned, but Boston blew out Philadelphia by 34 points


The Boston Celtics tied the series with the Philadelphia 76ers at 1-1 in the semifinals of the Eastern Conference of the National Basketball Association of the USA and Canada. In their own "TD Garden" hall, the Celts prevailed decisively 121:87 and took revenge for the defeat they suffered 48 hours earlier with 115:119.

The hosts had superiority in all components of the game, but it was most serious in shooting from the three. Boston scored 20 times from long range in 51 attempts, while the Sixers finished with just six 3-pointers in 30 attempts.

By half-time, the visitors kept close to their rivals. After the first 24 minutes of play, the score was 57:49 in favor of the Celtics, but the game was decided in the third quarter. The hosts made a series of 31:9 points, with which their advance reached 92:63, and until the end the match was played out.

Jalen Brown was the top scorer for the winners with 25 points. Malcolm Brogdon added 23 more off the bench. Derrick White and Marcus Smart have  scored 15 points each if them. Tobias Harris scored 16 points for the Philadelphia team.

Joel Embiid, who 24 hours earlier was named "Most Valuable Player" of the regular season in the NBA, returned to play after almost two weeks of absence due to a knee injury with 15 points and 5 umbrellas in 26 minutes on the court. Tyrese Maxey scored 13 points, and James Harden, who scored 45 points in the first game, now stayed away from those indicators and recorded 12 points and 10 rebounds.
