Florentino tied the Bernabeu for trophies won
Real Madrid won the FIFA Club World Cup for the eighth time in their history, defeating Al Hilal 5-3 in the final. This distinction was also historic for the president of the "white ballet" Florentino Perez, who already has 31 trophies since he was at the head of the club.
In doing so, he drew level with the legendary Santiago Bernabeu as the two presidents who have brought the most titles to the club's window.
This is Florentino's second spell at the helm of Real. He first managed the club between 2000 and 2006 and then took over the helm of the White Ballet again in 2009 and is still there today.
During these two periods, he won 6 times the Champions League, 6 times the Club World Cup, 5 European Super Cups, 6 La Liga titles, 2 Spanish Cups and 6 Spanish Super Cups - a total of 31 trophies.
The Santiago Bernabeu, after whom the club's stadium is named, was in charge of Real Madrid between 1943 and 1978. He brought the royal club 16 La Liga titles, 6 CAS trophies, 6 Spanish Cups, 1 Intercontinental Cup and 2 Latin Cups. He also has two smaller trophies, but they are unofficial and therefore do not count towards the total.
