Francis Ngannou is out of the UFC! Jon Jones vs. Cyril Gunn at UFC 285!

Jon-Jones

By all accounts, the UFC has dropped one of the biggest fights in its history. Francis Ngannou vacated the heavyweight title and became a free agent. The star from Cameroon wanted the UFC to give him more money as well as the right to fight in boxing. Apparently the two sides did not reach an agreement and Ngannou chose to leave.

This puts an end to talk of a fight between Ngannou and John Jones. Rumors of a fight between John Jones and Cyril Gunn started swirling around the US after a photo of Jones vs. Gunn was seen at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The media quickly started buzzing about the topic, and "Bones" himself confirmed that he is preparing for a fight in March against Gunn.

"I started training with Henry Cejudo 1 year ago. I'm glad it happened. Cejudo is very intelligent and a great leader. I'm a few weeks away from my heavyweight debut. I'll be fighting for the gold with Cyril Gunn in March in Vegas .

I would love to have Cejudo in my corner for this fight," Jones said in an interview. Gunn and Jones will fight for the vacant title at UFC 285, which takes place on March 4 in Las Vegas.

Jones, 35, has a record of 26-1-1 in MMA and is on a 17-fight winning streak. His last fight took place in February 2020. In it, he defeated Dominic Reyes and defended the light heavyweight title. Jones vacated her a few months later to prepare for her heavyweight debut.

Thus, in the last 3 years, "Bones" has not stopped training for his debut. John completes 16 of his meetings. His only loss in MMA is by disqualification. Gunn, on the other hand, has an 11-1 record in MMA. In his last fight, he defeated Tai Tuivasa by knockout in September 2022.

Gunn is a former interim UFC champion. At the beginning of 2022, he lost to Francis Ngannou by decision and failed to win the undisputed title. Cyril won 5 of his matches by knockout and 3 by submission.
