Germany and Mexico created a spectacular draw

Germany's American tour ended with a draw against Mexico - 2:2. Before that, the Bundesstim beat USA 3:1. The inspection in Philadelphia was part of the Germans' preparations for next year's European Championship finals, which they will host. Julian Nagelsmann's team opened the scoring with a goal by Antonio Rüdiger, but Carlos Antuna equalized before the break, and at the beginning of the second half, Eric Sanchez put the "Aztecs" ahead. Very soon, however, Niklas Fülkrug restored the tie. In the 4th minute, Leroy Sane controlled the ball on the right flank and passed to Musiala, who immediately looked for a combination with Florian Wirtz, but Guillermo Ochoa blocked the shot of the young Bayer (Leverkusen) star. The Mexicans responded with a dangerous shot by Santiago Jimenez that went inches wide of the post.

Germany took the lead in the 25th minute when Sane crossed from a corner, Robin Goossens headed the ball to Rudiger and the centre-back sent it into the net from a few yards out. Shortly after the goal, Rüdiger was involved in a curious situation in the other penalty area. After a fight with him, Jimenez fell and asked for a penalty, but the referee signaled for the game to continue. In the 34th minute, Jimenez found himself completely unmarked against Marc-Andre ter Stegen but shot over the bar. On the counterattack, Ochoa saved Wirtz's header and then Thomas Müller's goal was disallowed for offside. In the 37th minute, Irving Losano found Antuna and he scored from close range for 1:1.

At the very beginning of the second half, the Mexicans organized a good attack on the right flank. Antuna crossed to Sanchez and the Pachuca footballer sent the ball into Germany's goal with a flying dive. In the 49th Leon Goretzka could have equalized, but once again Ochoa showed a remarkable reflex and kicked in a corner. However, the goal for the Bundesliga was not too late. In the 51st minute, Wirtz shot a header, Ochoa saved, but in the extra time, Fühlkrug, who appeared as a reserve, was accurate for 2:2. By the end of the match, there were not many chances in front of the two goals. The 32-year-old striker of Union (Berlin) Kevin Behrens made his debut for Germany, replacing Jamal Musiala in the 87th minute.
