Guardiola: It was difficult, but the experience helped us
The manager of Manchester City, Josep Guardiola, did not hide his satisfaction with the classification of his team in the 1/2-final of the Champions League. The "Citizens" drew 1:1 in the rematch with Bayern in Munich and with a total score of 4:1 they move forward. The coach admitted that the match at the Allianz Arena was difficult for his team, but the experience gained in the tournament helped them to take their advantage.
"Three years in a row we are in the semi-finals of the Champions League. We had a lot of difficulties in the first half, especially on the left wing with Coman and the others. They had one or two chances before the penalty, but we defended well in the penalty area. The second part we were much better," began Guardiola.
"Jack Grealish helped us close the gaps in the second half and Holland's shot was really good. In Manchester we achieved an incredible result, but here we didn't need to win. The experience we have in the tournament helped us a lot", added the Spaniard.
"I know this stadium well and I know that Bayern believed until the end and did not stop pressing. We defended very well in the penalty area. It is in this area that we have made the most serious improvement compared to last season," concluded the specialist.
