Inter Miami fell hard in Messi's absence

The Inter Miami team lost 2:5 in their visit to the Atlanta United team in the meeting between the two teams from the regular round in the American Major League Soccer. The big star of David Beckham's club, Lionel Messi, was unable to play due to injury treatment. With the defeat, Inter Miami took the 27th place in the standings and is only 6 points above the last place, while the Atlanta United team is in the 7th position, 13 points behind the leaders Cincinnati.

At the beginning of the match, no one expected the heavy defeat of the team from Miami, as the players led by coach Gerardo Martino took the lead in the middle of the first half with a goal by Leonardo Campana (25'). But then there was a let-up and the hosts strung together three goals to go into the break with a comfortable lead. Tristan Muyumba (36'), Kamal Miller (41') and Brooks Lennon (44') became the authors of the goals.

The visitors repeated their strong start to the first half in the second half, winning a penalty shortly after the restart. The penalty kick was executed flawlessly and the hosts' lead was reduced thanks to Leonardo Campana (53'). Until the end of the meeting, the players of Inter Miami did not show the necessary arguments to turn the result, even allowing two more goals in their goal. They went down after accurate finishes from Yorgos Iakumakis (76') and Tyler Wolfe (89').
