Inter Miami Taunts Where's Messi
Inter Miami, soon to be joined by Lionel Messi, continues to be in dire straits. Last night, the team recorded its 12th loss in 17 games after falling 1:3 at the New England Revolution. Thus, the team remains in last place in the Eastern Conference of the Major Leagues of the USA and Canada.
A few days ago, Inter sacked coach Phil Neville, but his temporary replacement, Javier Morales, failed to reach even a point at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough. By the beginning of the second half, the team from Miami was already losing by three goals after the goals of Carles Hill (27'-penalty), Matt Polster (34') and Bobby Wood (51'). Josef Martinez (84'-penalty) reduced at the end.
New England fans used the occasion to mock the opponent with chants: "Where is Messi?". During the regular season, Inter will play twice against the rest of the teams from the East, as well as once against six teams from the Western Conference. The first nine teams qualify for the playoffs. Messi is expected to join the team only in July and debut no earlier than July 20.
