Joao Felix gave up 17 million euros for Barca

Joao Felix has achieved his goal of moving from Atletico Madrid to Barcelona, but it has literally cost him dearly. According to "A Bola" information, the Portuguese international has given up 17 million euros to complete the deal. In Atlético, Felix received 6 million euros per season. He has received his remuneration for July and August and until the end of the campaign his salary is covered by Barca. By the end of the season, the Catalans will pay the 23-year-old striker only 400,000 euros. In this way, he will lose nearly 5 million.

To unleash the most expensive purchase in their history on a direct rival, Atlético asked Felix to extend his contract for two more seasons, until 2028. In the new contract, the Portuguese's salary has been reduced twice - 3 million euros. This means that in the next 4 years, he will collect only 12 million euros, not 24 million. "Mundo Deportivo" wrote that earlier in the summer there was an option for Joao Felix to strengthen Liverpool and Darwin Nunes to sign with Atlético, but the Portuguese himself rejected the idea because he insisted on playing in Barcelona.
