Jon Jones is back with a bang in the UFC

UFC legend Jon Jones has proven himself to be one of the greatest MMA fighters of all time. The light heavyweight champion made his heavyweight debut and won the vacant title. Jones headlined the UFC 285 event, which took place in Las Vegas.

His opponent was a former interim champion in the person of Cyril Gann. The fight between the two ended faster than expected. Jones and Gunn battled for the title vacated by the departure of Francis Ngannou. For Jones, it was a return to the Octagon after a 3-year absence.

From the start of the match, Jones was active and after an exchange of kicks, Cyril Gunn made a mistake. A hook attempt went past the opponent and Jones was able to take the opponent to the ground and pin him to the net. Gunn tried to regain position but was solidly caught by the throat in a guillotine attempt. Gan surrendered after just over 2 minutes of the fight.

Thus, Jones became a champion in two categories. He did it in front of his home audience in the US. Jon Jones is the new UFC Heavyweight Champion. "Bones" joins the club of few fighters who have won the title in 2 different UFC divisions. Even more impressively, Jones took no damage in the fight.

It was Jones' 18th straight victory in the UFC. After the meeting, John said that he is ready to fight Stipe Miocic. This meeting will probably take place in July in Las Vegas. Miocic was in the hall and said he was ready for the match.
