Khamzat Chimaev entered into an absent argument with Dana White

UFC president Dana White has revealed why Chechen-born Swedish fighter Khamzat Chimaev hasn't stepped into the cage in eight months.

"Everything happens because of Chimaev himself. He has problems in his personal life. It is not because we do not give him a fight. The laws of our business are known: we must offer our fighters three matches a year. If this does not happen, we are obliged to we pay them. So the only reason Chimaev isn't fighting is because of his personal issues," White said.

Chimaev fought his last fight on the night of September 11, 2022 against Kevin Holland. The undefeated Chechen star ran over the American in 2 minutes, recording his 12th straight victory by submission in the Octagon. Shortly after Dana White's statement, Chimaev chimed in with a message on social media in which he disagreed with the version of the UFC boss.

"I have no problem fighting. If the UFC had given me a fight, I would have fought a long time ago. I did so many training camps, but no fight. The problem is definitely not me. I trained in Dubai, then in Thailand... Why train so much if I'm not going to fight? I don't understand," Chimaev wrote on social networks.

"I can fight anybody. It doesn't matter to me who I'm going up against," he added, noting several fighters.
