Kyle Kuzma becomes a free agent

Washington Wizards wing Kyle Kuzma opted out of the final year of his contract with the team and elected to become a free agent. The 27-year-old Kuzma had a $13 million contract for the 2023/24 season, but it is almost certain that he will be able to work out a new one with improved financial terms. It is highly likely that Kuzma will re-sign with the Capitals to a new long-term contract, but he has the option to negotiate with any other team in the National Basketball Association.

Kyle Kuzma averaged a career-high 21.2 points per game last season. Meanwhile, Toronto Raptors guard Gary Trent Jr. exercised his option to extend his contract for another season. Through it, he will receive 18.5 million dollars. Trent recorded 17.4 points in the 2022/23 NBA season.
