Lakers beat Memphis in overtime drama


LeBron James scored 22 points to lead the Los Angeles Lakers to a 117-111 overtime victory over Memphis in the NBA-Canada playoffs. With this, Ezerniatsi took a 3-1 lead in the series and are one win away from qualifying for the second round of the direct eliminations.

The king scored a key basket at the end of regular time, with which he tied the game at 104:104 and sent the game into overtime. There, LeBron also scored important points for his team's victory. James also added a career-high 20 rebounds. The last Lakers player to record over 20 points and over 20 rebounds in a playoff game was Shaquille O'Neal in 2004.

Los Angeles had a 7-point deficit with five minutes left in regulation, but a sudden surge, started by three consecutive 3-pointers by D'Angelo Russell, brought them back into the game. Austin Reaves led the Lakers with 23 points and Anthony Davis scored five of his 17 in overtime.

For Memphis, Desmond Bain scored 36 points and Ja Morant scored 19 with his injured right hand. Dylan Brooks, who was ejected early in the third quarter of last game after hitting LeBron James in the groin, had 11 points for the Grizzlies. The Lakers will have their first chance to close out the series in Game 5, which is Wednesday in Memphis.
