Lampard will lead Chelsea until the end of the season
Frank Lampard will be appointed as interim manager of Chelsea until the end of the season, according to most of the major media on the Island. The 44-year-old specialist will takes the place of Graham Potter, who was fired a few days ago, and will have the task of getting the team on their feet in the remaining games of the campaign.
This will be a return of sorts for Lampard on the Chelsea bench. He managed the team between July 2019 and January 2021, when he was replaced by Thomas Tuchel. At the head of the "blues" he achieved 44 victories in 84 games and led the team to the FA Cup final.
After parting ways with Chelsea, Lampard took charge of Everton in January 2022, but his stay at Goodison Park was rather short and unsuccessful and he was sacked in January 2023. Otherwise, Lampard has the status of a Chelsea legend.
He holds the record for the most goals scored with the Blues team - 211. As a footballer with the Londoners, he won three Premier League titles, 4 times the FA Cup, 2 times the League Cup, once the Champions League and once the Europa League.
