Lazarov qualified in the main draw of the tournament in Dubai

Alexander Lazarov advanced to the main draw of the ATP 500 tennis tournament in Dubai after playing a perfect match on his own serve to win 7-5, 7-5 against Italy's Francesco Passaro in one hour and 35 minutes. After overcoming the screenings, Lazarov guaranteed himself 22,270 dollars from the total prize fund, which is in the amount of 2.86 million. The Bulgarian also earned 20 points for the ATP rankings.

Lazarov was flawless in his serve and didn't allow Passaro, the No. 7 seed in the qualifiers, to even get a break play. The Bulgarian finished the match with 88% of first serve points won, six winners, six aces and only three unforced errors.

Lazarov took a 6-5 lead in the first set and reached two set points in the 12th game after Passaro sent a ball out. The Bulgarian, who is currently 195 places behind the Italian in the ATP rankings, took advantage of his first chance and closed the part at 7:5.

In the second set, Lazarov's opportunities for a breakthrough were much greater, but he first missed three break points in the eighth game, then failed to take two match points in the tenth. However, the Bulgarian easily won on his own serve for 6:5 and in the 12th game he scored his third match point after Passaro sent the ball behind the baseline.

The schedule for the Dubai tournament features the names of four tennis players from the top 10 of the rankings, including Lazarov's potential opponent in the first round and number 1 Novak Djokovic. The other three are Andrei Rublev, Daniil Medvedev and Felix Auger-Aliasim.
