Luke Shaw will not be back for the next five weeks

Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag has dashed the hopes of the team's fans that Luke Shaw will soon return to action. The left-back picked up the injury back in the derby with Tottenham on August 19 and has already missed nine games for his club side, with expectations set to resume training soon. However, according to Ten Haag, the England international will not be available until the next national team break, which is in mid-November.

That means Shaw is likely to miss a further seven games, including next week's Manchester derby. Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who suffered an injury on September 18 against Brighton, is closer to resuming training. Casemiro is also injured after the Brazil games but will be fit for next week's derby. "I don't expect Luke Shaw to be ready for the next block of games. Varane is back, so is Sergio Reguilon. Amrabat is also available. Wan-Bissaka is not far away from resuming training with the team and returning," Ten Haag said.
