Maguire's transfer to West Ham is on the verge of failure

The transfer of Manchester United defender Harry Maguire to West Ham is on the verge of failure. The deal was considered secure until recently after the two clubs agreed all the details between themselves. However, it appears that the transfer could fall through as the player cannot agree on personal terms with the Hammers, claims The Sun.

Maguire currently earns £190,000 a week at Old Trafford. However, West Ham cannot afford to pay him that much money, having offered him 120,000 per week, and part of his salary will continue to be paid by the Red Devils. However, at this stage, the defender does not agree to these terms, and this could scuttle the deal.

Otherwise, the agreement between West Ham and Man United is that the Londoners will pay 30 million pounds for the rights of the 30-year-old player. However, the Hammers are already looking at another option to strengthen their defence, having targeted Bayer Leverkusen's Odilon Kosunu, who would cost the same money. His attraction may even be more profitable, since he is much younger, and in addition, the "aspirins" are ready to let him go on loan first with an option to buy.

So Maguire's future remains up in the air and for now he remains a Manchester United player. His possible stay at Old Trafford could mess up the plans of the club, who are already working hard to find his replacement, having targeted Bayern Munich's Benjamin Pavard and Nice's Jean-Clair Todibo.
