Makhachev responded to Oliveira's challenge

UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev answered the challenge that was thrown at him in the Octagon earlier today. After a first-round TKO victory, former divisional hegemon Charles Oliveira has said he wants a rematch against the Dagestani in a title fight. In October 2022, the two faced off and Makhachev won by submission in the second round.

"Last time you saw 10% of me. Now you saw a hundred and twenty. The champion has a name and it's Charles Oliveira. I'm next for Makhachev. We can do it wherever he wants. I'm ready!" said the Brazilian in the cage.

"Congratulations Charles! But still, this game has levels," Khabib Nurmagomedov's successor wrote back. In his last meeting, Makhachev defended the belt against Alexander Volkanovski in a fight that ended in a decision in his favor, but many did not agree with him.
