Marseille beat Lyon with a own goal in a last second

Marseille once again showed why it is the strongest guest in Ligue 1. Igor Tudor's team beat Lyon 2:1 and displaced Lance from the second position in the standings, 8 points behind the leader Paris Saint-Germain. Marseille created more chances, but they didn't succeed until extra time when Malo Gusto scored an own goal.

Prior to this match, Lyon were on a three-match winning streak, but today they could not continue their upward performance and occupy the 7th position in the standings. Alexandre Lacazette scored the only goal for the "kids" in the 68th minute. Cengiz Yunder had previously given OM the lead in the 44th.

Marseille's waa  more composed play led to several dangerous chances in front of Lyon's goal before the break. Home keeper Antoni Lopes kept the score level with a series of good saves, but in the 44th minute he had little to do with Cengiz Yunder's extension after deflecting Alexis Sanchez's shot.

Lyon responded in the second half, although they struggled to create dangerous situations in front of Pau Lopez. In the 68th minute, Corentin Tolisso sent in a very precise cross that caught Marseille's defenders by surprise, and Lacazette put a foot on the far post to make it 1-1 with his 20th goal of the season.

In the 75th minute, the crossbar saved Lyon, but at the very end of added time, Sinali Diomande kicked the ball into the body of his team-mate Malo Gusteau and from there it went into the goal, to the horror of the Groupe Stadium fans. In the next round, Marseille will meet Auxerre at the Velodrome, and Lyon will visit Strasbourg, involved in the battle for survival.
