Mbappe sits down for a face-to-face conversation with the PSG president

The saga surrounding Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe looks set to continue in full force until the end of the summer. The 24-year-old striker shocked club bosses by refusing to sign a new contract and they threatened to sell him. The player's answer was that he wanted to receive all the sums under his contract if he were to be sold, which could not happen. So the situation is deadlocked.

Mbappe resumed training with the team yesterday, but his future is yet to be decided. He is expected to have a face-to-face conversation with club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi on Tuesday in another attempt to reach an understanding between them that suits all parties involved, according to Sky Sports.

This will be the first conversation between them since the news of Mbappe's decision not to sign. So far, the two sides have exchanged letters and addresses through the media. However, now they are about to sit face to face, which may change the situation.

It remains to be seen what the outcome of this conversation will be, but they need to find a solution as the situation is bad for both sides right now. It will hardly be good for Mbappe if Al-Khelaifi follows through on his threat to anchor him on the bench for a whole season if he does not sign and refuses a transfer. However, it won't be of much use to PSG either, as the player will leave as a free agent next summer.
