McGregor's successor in the UFC learned his next opponent
Ian Gary has received an opponent for the UFC 296 event. The Irishman will face the experienced Vicente Luque on December 16 in Las Vegas in the last pay-per-view fight gala of the year on the most elite MMA circuit in the world. The news was reported by Dana White on Sunday (09/24). Gary, who is also known as The Future, challenged Stephen Thompson after his latest success in the cage, but the American was given a fight against Shavkat Rakhmonov at the same event.
The 26-year-old knockout artist has six wins in six UFC fights. In his last match, he defeated Neil Magny by unanimous decision. Luecke holds victories over big names in MMA such as Tyron Woodley, Michael Chiesa and Mike Perry. In his last meeting in August, he dealt with another former circuit champion - Rafael Dos Anjos. We remind you that UFC 296 will be headlined by Leon Edwards-Colby Covington and Alessandre Pantoya-Brandon Royval.
