Michael Jordan is the first athlete in the Top 400of the richest people in the United States

The basketball legend Michael Jordan has becomes  the first athlete to make it to Forbes magazine's list of the 400 richest people in the United States. The limit to get into the prestigious ranking was raised to $2.9 billion, but the six-time NBA champion is already above it after selling a controlling stake in the basketball "Charlotte Hornets" for $3 billion in August.

In 2010, Jordan bought a majority stake for $275 million, becoming the first former NBA player to becomes an owner of a league club.
