New Napoli signing confirmed to have turned Liverpool down

Napoli's new signing Jesper Lindström has confirmed he has rejected a move to Liverpool this summer. The winger, who arrived at the Italian champions on a transfer from Eintracht (Frankfurt), admitted he was a fan of the Merseysiders but stressed he was not convinced he would have played enough in their squad, which weighed in his choice.

"I am a supporter of Liverpool, which is why they were interested in me. It would be a delightful experience, but would it be wise of me? I wasn't going to be a starter, and I'm at an age where I should be playing. If I'm not playing, I can just sit in front of the TV and watch them while I'm part of another club. Napoli told me that I would have a lot of opportunities to play, so that was the better option. This is one of the best teams in the world," Lindström told Tipsbladet.
