New York beats Boston for sixth straight NBA win


The New York Knicks knocked Boston off the top of the regular season standings with a 109-94 victory. Julius Randle and Immanuel Quickley each scored 23 points for the Knicks' sixth straight victory, which moved Brooklyn out of fifth place in the Eastern Conference.

Celtics star Jayson Tatum didn't have a day, making just six of 18 shooting attempts and was ejected for a second technical foul in the final quarter. Tatum finished with 14 points, 9 assists and 7 rebounds.

LaMelo Ball made six 3-pointers before spraining his right ankle in the third quarter in Charlotte's 117-106 NBA-Canada win over Detroit.

Ball finished with 18 points and made at least five 3-pointers for the fifth straight game. The player was injured without a fight, and after the match it became clear that he had broken his right ankle. Terry Rozier finished with 22 points for the Hornets' fifth straight win.

Miami beat Philadelphia 101-99 in another game tonight. Jimmy Butler finished with 23 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists for the Heat. James Harden could have given Philadelphia the win in the last second, but his three-point attempt fell short. Joel Embiid was the most useful for Philadelphia with 27 points and 12 rebounds, and Harden finished with 20 points and 12 assists.
