Official: Ancelotti becomes Brazil coach

Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti is in his final season at the club. From June next year, he will take charge of five-time world champions Brazil. The news was officially confirmed by the president of the Brazilian federation, Ednaldo Rodríguez.

"Ancelotti will be at the head of the team for Copa America 2024. His contract will be until the World Cup in 2026," announced Rodriguez. Until Ancelotti takes office, Fernando Dinis, who will continue to lead his club team Fluminense, will be the temporary coach of the Seleção.

"Dinis is the man and he will lead Fluminense and the national team during this time. For us, as the coach of the Brazilian team, he is not a temporary mentor. Fernando has a 12 month contract. After that, Ancelotti will come, who will arrive for the Copa America," stressed Ednaldo Rodríguez.

Ancelotti, 64, returned to Real Madrid in 2021, replacing Zinedine Zidane. The Italian managed to win the Champions League, the Club World Cup, the La Liga title, the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup.
