Pioli: It's normal after such a loss that we get booed

Milan coach Stefano Pioli was quite unhappy with the 1-0 loss to Udinese at home. He criticized his players for their play and said that after such a performance it is normal for the fans to boo from the stands. "What happened was we didn't play the game we could and wanted to. The more we pushed, the more we lost clarity and quality. Even in the weeks when the results weren't coming, at least there was a good performance.

We didn't play well today and we were too chaotic. We must be worried about our results and performance recently. We knew it was going to be a tough game as Udinese don't let you get into a rhythm, but the whole performance just wasn't up to our standards. Now this should give us the motivation to go forward and do much better in the next matches," Pioli stated. "Jovic is a central striker who knows how to receive the ball and distribute it to his teammates.

It's his first start for us, we wanted to use two strikers to play high balls, but the more the game went on, the more we lost our confidence, our positivity and things didn't go the way we wanted. I am sure I have good players with different characteristics at my disposal. Today I made a different choice because Pulisic and Chukwueze were not available, otherwise we know how we want to attack and approach the games. We have to do much better, it's fair for the fans to be unhappy and boo us because it wasn't the performance we wanted," the coach added.
