Pioli The result is negative, but not our performance

Stefano Pioli commented on the goalless draw of his Milan team against Empoli in the match between the two teams from the 29th round of the Italian Serie A. "It's certainly not the result we wanted and we're more sorry for the first half when we could have pressed more."

In the second we did everything we had to do to win, but the ball just didn't want to go in. The result is negative, but not our performance. It's been a long time since we played with intensity, focus and energy. I'm disappointed, we are Milan and we have to beat Empoli at home," Pioli told Sky Sport Italia.

The head coach of Milan also commented on the role of some of the key players in the match. "Obviously we expect goals from the forwards and we created chances, but we had to do better in the penalty area, not only with the attacking players, but also with the full-backs and the midfielders who were involved in the attack.

If Rebic or Origi had scored their chances, the assessment of their performance would have been different. When a team dominates and doesn't score a goal, that's a problem," added the specialist. The draw prevented Milan from closing the gap on second-placed Lazio in Serie A to one point ahead of the Eagles' match with Juventus. Milan is currently in third place with 52 points.
