Pochettino takes over at Chelsea this week

Mauricio Pochettino could be appointed Chelsea manager this week. According to all the leading media on the Island, the Argentine is the clear favorite for the job, and according to the Sun, he can start work as early as tomorrow's home game against Brentford, in which the Londoners may be led by interim manager Frank Lampard for the last time.

The club legend has been signed until the end of the season, but there is a risk he will be released prematurely, as happened with Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter. However, Fabrizio Romano rejects the version that Pochettino will start work now. The Italian journalist confirms that the contract will be signed very soon, but the former PSG coach will officially start in June.

Negotiations have progressed and Todd Boelli and Pochettino have practically agreed on all the main issues. The Argentine will bring his familiar team to Stamford Bridge. His assistants will be Jesus Perez and Tony Jimenez. His son Sebastiano Pochettino, who deals with analysis and statistics, will also be in the staff.

Pochettino has been in charge of Tottenham for five years, so his move to another London club will not go down well with Spurs fans, but for the Argentine this is not a problem, especially since he has so far never received an official an offer from Daniel Levy to return to Tottenham in the summer.
