Real Madrid are interested in Diogo Dalot
Real Madrid are interested in Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot. The Portuguese recently extended his contract with the Red Devils by 12 months after the club activated that option. However, "Santiago Bernabeu" are seriously considering sending an offer for him in the summer, "AS" claims.
"White Ballet" wants to take a young and promising player for the right zone of the defense, where veterans Dani Carvajal and Lucas Vazquez are currently operating. However, both are now in advanced age, the former being 32 and the latter 33 years old.
It is because of this that Madrid believe it is time to refresh their defense in this area. Dalot was a firm starter in Erik ten Hag's scheme at the start of the season, but injury sidelined him for a while, allowing Aaron Wan-Bissaka to name him out of the starting eleven.
The 23-year-old Portuguese still remains an important player for the Red Devils, but he may get fewer chances in the remaining games until the end of the season. It is also increasingly rumored that Ten Hag want a new player for the right-back, suggesting that someone between the Portuguese and the Englishman will have to be sold.
Thus, Real Madrid will try to take advantage of the situation and attract Dalot to their ranks. United are certainly not going to let him go easily, however, and are expected to demand around €50m for his rights after paying €22m for him to Porto in 2018.
