Real Madrid will secure a new defender

Real-Madrid-will-secure-a-new-defender

Real Madrid are working on the return of their teenager Fran Garcia, who plays as a left back, reports "Cadena Ser". He is currently at Rayo Vallecano, with the two clubs each holding 50% of his rights. These days it was understood that Bayer Leverkusen were considering activating his €10m buyout clause, prompting the champions to spring into action.

According to the agreement between Real and Rayo, the Santiago Bernabeu club can bring Garcia back by paying 5 million euros to their neighbors.

Already yesterday, Carlo Ancelotti was adamant that there will be no new players in January. The idea of "los blancos" is now that they fully regain the rights to the 23-year-old player, but leave him in Rayo Vallecano on loan until the summer. After that, he will now join the lineup and fight for a place.

Fran Garcia has been in Real Madrid's academy since he was 14, but has yet to make a single appearance for the first team in La Liga. He was initially transferred to Rayo, and in 2021 he went there on a permanent transfer for 2 million euros, but with the condition that his rights remain divided.

This is precisely what obliges the "bees" to inform Real Madrid when an offer arrives for him. In addition, "los Merengues" have the advantage of activating this clause for the 5 million euros, even if the possible offer for Garcia is greater than 10 million.
