Real Madrid won the third away game in a row the hero is again Bellingham

Real Madrid prevailed 1-0 over Celta in a La Liga third-round tie to record a third consecutive success away from home, having already dealt with Athletic Bilbao and Almeria. Jude Bellingham signed in the 81st minute and kept the "whites" 100% active. Already at the beginning, a goal of the home team was disallowed due to a violation in attack, and in the middle of the first half, Vinicius Junior was injured and Joselu appeared in his place. In the 68th minute, Celta's guard Ivan Villar saved a penalty taken by Rodrigo. However, he could not prevent Bellingham's header that secured the three points for the Royals.

In Vigo all week they were excited not only about the upcoming match with the royal club, but also followed the news about the future of Gabry Veiga. The young Galician star was close to a deal with Napoli, but in the end it became clear that he will continue his career at Saudi Al-Ahly. Celta head coach Rafael Benitez could not rely on the injured Gonzalo Paciencia and Carles Perez today. In forward positions, the big responsibility fell on Iago Aspas, who had the support of Jonathan Bamba and Jørgen Strand Larsen. The three defenders in front of Ivan Villar were Karl Starfelt, Joseph Aidoo and Unai Nunes, while Franco Servi, Fran Beltran, Luca de la Torre and Oscar Mingesa started in midfield.

Real Madrid were on a 6-match winning streak against Celta, but since 2003 they have consistently conceded a goal when visiting Balaidos. At the same time, in 14 of their previous 16 games against this opponent, Los Blancos have scored at least twice. As expected, starting in goal for Real was Kepa Arrizabalaga, who made his debut for the team after being brought in on loan from Chelsea. The back four were Daniel Carvajal, Antonio Rudiger, David Alaba and Francisco Garcia. Eduardo Camavinga returned to midfield. He partnered with Aurelien Chuameni and Federico Valverde, and a little ahead of them was Jude Bellingham. The attack was once again led by Brazilian nationals Vinicius Junior and Rodrigo. Luka Modric and Toni Kroos remained among the reserves.

Celta approached bravely in the opening minutes and created pressure in front of Kepa on several occasions. After a corner kick, there was a flurry in the penalty area and Fran Beltran's shot, which Strand Larsen deflected into the Real net. The "Balaidos" crowd rejoiced, but for a short time, because after consulting the VAR, the referee Isidro Escudero canceled the goal. The reason was that Strand Larsen fouled Kepa Arrizabalaga in an aerial duel before Beltran's shot. Real hit back immediately with a break and Rodrigo's shot, but Ivan Villar intervened well. The bad news for Madrid started with Vinicius' injury. The Brazilian suffered a sprain and could not continue, and Joselu, who was brought in this summer, entered the game instead.

In the 24th minute, the very active Mingesa attempted a long shot that deflected off Rüdiger and the ball went inches wide of the post. By the end of the half, Real Madrid had turned up the heat and it was becoming difficult for the hosts to get out of their half. However, they organized a very nice counterattack in the 32nd minute, where again Mingesa had a chance to shoot at Kepa, but sent the ball wide. Rodrigo harassed the Celta defense the most. The Brazilian showed himself with an excellent break in the 35th minute, but Starfelt blocked his shot. In the 43rd minute, Bellingham fed Joselu and he beat Villarreal, but Real's batter was offside and that goal was also disallowed. Seconds before the break, another wonderful attack by Celta ended with a pass by Bamba.

And the second half started well for Celta. The Galicians came close to scoring in the 52nd minute after a combination between Bamba and Strand Larsen, but the Norwegian's shot went straight to Kepa. Real's game was failing and Carlo Ancelotti called on veterans Modric and Kroos to replace Kamavinga and Chuameni. In the 62nd minute, Rodrigo entered the penalty area and found Bellingham. The Englishman was unable to get a shot in, but Valverde did, and he shot wide of the target. Shortly after, Strand Larsen could once again punish the hesitant defensive play of the visitors, but he shot over the goal. The activation of the guests led to a penalty in their favor. Bellingham was the man to bring Rodrigo up to speed and Villar was late to stop the Brazilian and brought him down in the penalty area.

Initially, Joselu took the ball and was preparing to take the penalty, but then Rodrigo took the responsibility. However, Villar felt the direction of the shot and kept the scoreless draw. As the end of the match approached, the game was more and more often in front of the home team's goal. In the 81st minute, Kroos crossed from a corner, Joselu deflected the ball at the far post to Bellingham and the Englishman continued it into the net. It was the midfielder's 4th goal in his third game in La Liga. Celta didn't have much time to react, and Ancelotti immediately released another defender in the face of Nacho Fernandez. The referee extended regular time by 5 minutes, in which the hosts were never able to threaten Kepa's door. In the next round, Real Madrid will welcome Getafe in their first game of the season at the Santiago Bernabeu, while Celta will visit Almeria.
