Roger Federer enters a new role


After a career spent navigating the toughest opponents on court, 20-time Grand Slam tennis champion Roger Federer will helps  to travelers navigate their way as the new voice of driving app Waze.

In addition to basic directions, the 41-year-old Swiss will offer drivers various motivational messages. "It's time to drive - I can already feel the adrenaline pumping," Roger Federer says in one of the recordings. Another begins by saying, “It's time to go! Trust your abilities. I am ready to help you along the way.”

Federer has joined a wide array of celebrity voices on the Internet app, which Alphabet Inc acquired for $1 billion in 2013, including pop stars Christina Aguilera and the Jonas Brothers.

The former world No. 1 tennis player ended his outstanding competitive career last September. "Okay, I'm excited for this trip," Federer also said on the tape, while another said: "I feel rested and ready. Like coming home from a nice vacation. Sometimes you need time away from the madness, you know?'
