Sergey Pavlovic also scalped Curtis Blaydes in the first round. The two UFC heavyweight fighters headlined the UFC Vegas 71 event held in Las Vegas. It was all over in 3 minutes and 8 seconds.

At the start of the fight, Curtis relied on jabs. A two-hit combination halted the Blades' onslaught. Curtis lands a right, then another. Sergey goes forward, but lands a right, which he counters with an uppercut. Low kick and jab by Blades. Sergey tries a combination and lands a right.

A series of head shots from Blades forced Mark Goddard to stop the fight. It was Pavlovich's 6th consecutive first-round knockout victory. The Blades, on the other hand, are coming off a 3-game winning streak. After the fight, Pavlovic wanted a shot at the heavyweight title.

Sergej will probably wait until 2024 because Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic will be fighting for the gold at the end of the year. Jones claims this will be his last fight. This means that if he defends the title and retires from MMA, then Pavlovic will fight for the vacant title against one of the top 5 fighters in 2024.
