The LeBron James museum is opening to his hometown

A museum of the star of the Los Angeles Lakers LeBron James will be opened on November 25 in Akron (Ohio, USA), the hometown of the 38-year-old American. Visitors will learn about the basketball player's childhood, career and non-sports activities. The museum will even display the apartment he and his mother Gloria lived in, along with items from his high school days and championships with Cleveland, Miami and the Los Angeles Lakers.

The museum is in House Three Thirty was built by James's foundation to serve the town where he grew up. "It's always been my dream to put Akron on the map so that I have a place in my hometown that allows me to share my career with my fans around the world. It means a lot to me. It's been known that I've accomplished a lot things over the years and I always knew there would be a time and a place to put them out," the basketball player said.

Among the items on display will be the all-white suit James wore to the 2003 NBA Draft, his McDonald's All-American Game jersey and an original scoreboard from St. Vincent-St. Mary's High School, where James first caught the eye of basketball fans as a teenager. Four-time NBA champion LeBron James, who turns 39 next month, is in his 21st season as a pro. Last year, he passed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the all-time leading scorer in NBA history with 38,390 points.

He is the Olympic champion of the Games in Beijing 2008 and in London 2012. Four-time winner of the award for the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the regular season in the NBA (2009, 2010, 2012, 2013). In 2012 and 2013, he became the NBA champion with the Miami Heat and won the "Most Valuable Player" award at the finals. In 2016, he led the Cleveland Cavaliers to their first title, became a three-time NBA champion and won the Finals MVP award for the third time. In 2020, he triumphed with the LA Lakers and became "Most Valuable Player" in the finals for the fourth time in his outstanding career.
