The offer from Qatar for Manchester United will be for 5 billion pounds

Qatari investors who want to buy Manchester United will offer 5 billion pounds for the English club, informs "Daily Mail. The current owners want about one billion more, but hardly any of the candidates who have until tonight to declare their desire for participating in the bidding, will bid as much.

Sealed bids from all those interested in buying the 20-time English champion must be submitted by 17:00 New York time or 00:00 Bulgarian time. According to the information from the USA, just today the value of Manchester United's club shares increased by 5.9%. On Thursday, the stock market closed with a 9.7% increase in the shares in question.

The only other surefire candidate is Britain's richest man, Sir Jim Racktliff, who has already said he will bid. Elon Musk, investors from the US, Saudi Arabia, China and Singapore have also been linked with potential bids, but there is currently no confirmation of any.

The American commercial bank Rein, which is in charge of the entire process, will divide the received offers into three large groups. In the first of them will be the proposals of the investors who want to buy the whole club and have full control. It is said that there are five candidates for this, one of them being that of Qatar.

The second group will be with offers from candidates who wish to invest in Manchester United in exchange for acquiring a stake in the club. The third group includes proposals for commercial partnerships with companies that could offer different services such as retail or media expertise.

Bids for the latter two categories will be more than 20 in number, and it is expected that various candidates from these two groups may subsequently form consortia to try to enter the first group for a joint bid for full control.
