The youngest Manchester's United players lost to Ryan Reynolds' team

Manchester United lost 1:3 to Wrexham in their next pre-season game. The match was played at the Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego, and Red Devils manager Erik ten Hag relied on a line-up of young talent plus veteran Jonny Evans, who recently returned to the club.

United's unusual formation could not come up against Wrexham, who are owned by actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney and returned to professional football last season. The Welsh side created more chances and deservedly won, with Manchester United's Daniel Kavanagh red carded early in the second half.

The inexperienced players of the "red devils" made a lot of mistakes and some of them were punished by the opponent. Wrexham took the lead in the 29th minute with Elliott Lee heading home Liam McAlinden's cross at the far post. Just seven minutes later, Aaron Hayden found himself in the right place in the penalty area to score a second goal for the Welsh.

United pulled one goal back late in the half. Its author was the Spaniard Mark Jurado, who benefited from a perfect assist by Alvaro Fernandez. At the break, Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson made 10 substitutions and in the 47th minute his side were handed a numerical advantage after Kavanagh fouled Andy Cannon and was sent off.

With a man less for Ten Haag's line-up, it was even more difficult. In the 70th minute, Jacob Mendy's cross found its way to Sam Dalby and he restored Wrexham's two-goal lead. The bad news for the "Red Dragons" was the injury of their star Paul Mullin, who was substituted in the first half.

Manchester United's next test will be on July 27 against Real Madrid and Ten Hag will use their main players in it. So far, the team has beaten Leeds (2-0), Lyon (1-0) and Arsenal (2-0) in succession, before the defeat at Wrexham.
